Would you be interested in working with Badminton England and Active Lives Education to increase the number of junior badminton players by introducing Badminton England’s new primary initiative to your school?
We are offering FREE Badminton sessions to schools across Staffordshire. Normally Badminton is only deliverered on secondary schools, let us show you how Badminton can be delivered in Primary schools. Our brilliant Racket Pack equipment set is designed to engage children of all abilities.
The programme is delivered by our Development Officer Tim Hull, a Level 2 Badminton coach, who is also one of the county coaches for Staffordshire.
We have a partnership agreement with Badminton England to deliver the new initiative. The initiative has been designed to deliver fun and engaging skill based sessions ensuring a positive first experience of Badminton.
Badminton England have worked closely with the Association for PE to ensure the initiative meets the requirements of the National curriculum. Whilst the programme is badminton focused, each module covers the essential fundamental skill development as outlined in the curriculum.
The initiative includes two modules of learning which will meet the needs of children for each of the specified age groups:
Ages 5-7 (school years 1 and 2)
Ages 7-9 (school years 3 and 4)
Ages 9-11 (school years 5 and 6)
The modules can be delivered in curriculum time or as extra curricular activities such as lunch time clubs or afterschool activities.
We also run junior badminton sessions for 5-11 year olds at Beacon Sport and Fitness in Stafford on Wednesday evenings providing a pathway for children who want to continue playing outside of school. Message Tim below to book a FREE taster session for these.
