Active Lives working in partnership with Staffordshire FA

Active Lives are delighted to announce that we will be working with Staffordshire FA over the coming months to help Staffordshire FA increase the amount of disability football sessions made available for youth players across Stafford and Cannock.

Active Lives Director, Gavin Nelson says: " I'm really excited by this project and linking in with the Staffordshire FA. The project means we'll be able to support the Staffordshire FA to develop youth provision as well as working with Stafford Town to create a new disability team in Stafford to take part in the Youth Staffordshire Ability Counts League. Our coaches will provide children with playing opportunities in schools and  an opportunity to get involved in a team outside of school".

Gemma Turner, Staffordshire FA Football Development Officer (Disability):

"We are pleased to confirm that we are working in partnership with Active Lives Education & Stafford Town FC to provide new disability football sessions for youth players to take part in fun football activities/ games starting in April 2018.

Over the last few years disability football in Staffordshire has continued to grow with their now being opportunities for both adults & youth players to take part in a range of mixed football activities across the county from recreational football & grassroots through to the disability talent pathway.

However we are looking to develop the youth provision to enable us to provide more opportunities for young people to get involved locally with the aim of creating a new disability team in Stafford to take part in our Youth Staffordshire Ability Counts League.

It’s fantastic to be working collectively with these partners to enable us to reach more individuals and provide players with the best experience possible, whether they want to try football for the first time, develop their skills or make friends, all players encouraged to come along to get involved."

If you know any parents with children who would like to take part in Stafford or any schools that would be intrested in getting involved then we'd love to hear from you-
